Athletic Fortitude was founded by Colin Jonov, a seasoned athlete with a history in Division 1 collegiate football at both Bucknell University and the University of Pittsburgh. His time on the field also includes a stint in the rookie minicamp with the Buffalo Bills in 2019. These experiences, coupled with an unyielding passion for mental health and performance psychology, instilled in him invaluable lessons that only real-world experiences can provide. Faced with a lack of accessible resources, Colin took it upon himself to become deeply knowledgeable and well-versed in the field. Today, he is driven by a powerful motivation to share his unique insights and acquired wisdom with others.
Our dynamic community is made up of dedicated professional and Olympic athletes from a diverse range of sports, all of whom are committed to honing the mental aspect of their performance. United by a shared passion, we strive to push our own limits while simultaneously uplifting and celebrating each other's accomplishments. In this unique group, self-improvement and mutual support go hand in hand, creating an environment where mental strength is not only valued but also actively nurtured.
That's why Athletic Fortitude's mission is so important:
To make sure every athlete on earth has easy access to the resources necessary to take on any mental hurdles thrown their way.
"I founded Athletic Fortitude, knowing that athletes all over the world struggle with internal darkness that is invisible to the world. On the surface, athletes are frequently seen as gladiators, but that doesn't mean we aren't normal people with normal thoughts and emotions.
Throughout my own career, I dealt with the emotional highs and lows that come with being an athlete - from performance anxiety to the crushing blow of losing my sport. But I refuse to let this be the norm. Athletes deserve to be equipped with the tools and resources necessary to take on any mental hurdles thrown their way.
That's why Athletic Fortitude's mission is so important to me: to make sure every athlete on earth has easy access to the resources necessary to take on any mental hurdles thrown their way."
